CDL Driver/Equipment Operator

Full-Time | Year-Round | Southern Maine

Maine Hydro-Vac Services is looking for a motivated and dependable Laborer / Equipment Technician to join our crew.

We are a family-owned company specializing in vacuum truck services, stormwater and sewer system maintenance, vacuum excavation, pipe jetting, inspections, and excavation. This isn't a typical general labor position.

You'll work alongside our drivers and operators on a variety of job sites while learning specialized equipment and skills used in the stormwater, sewer, utility, and excavation industries.

One day you may be helping clean catch basins with a vacuum truck, the next assisting with pipe jetting or a camera inspection, and another working alongside our excavation crew.

Previous experience in a related field is a plus! Vacuum truck experience is not required; training will be provided. 

• Assist vacuum truck operators on daily job sites
• Operate wash guns and pressure-washing equipment
• Handle vacuum and jetter hoses
• Assist with catch basin and stormwater system cleaning
• Remove and replace manhole and catch basin covers
• Help expose and clean pipes during vacuum excavation
• Assist with pipe and culvert jetting
• Assist with sewer and stormwater camera inspections
• Set up and maintain a safe, organized work area
• Take job-site photos and assist with required documentation
• Help clean and maintain trucks, tools, and equipment
• Perform general excavation and construction-related labor as needed
• Follow company safety procedures and job-site requirements

We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, safety-minded, and willing to learn.

Candidates should:

• Be comfortable performing physical, hands-on work
• Be able to lift and handle equipment weighing 50+ lbs.
• Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Be willing to get dirty—this is an active field position
• Work well as part of a crew
• Be able to follow instructions and work safely around trucks and heavy equipment
• Take care of company tools and equipment
• Be dependable and arrive ready to work

Construction, excavation, utility, landscaping, public works, or other outdoor labor experience is helpful but not required.
